| Why RubberTreePlant? This is very much my personal website. As such, updates are fairly sporadic. I was thinking of setting it up with scripts so it looks like I do far more work on it than I do, but I don't think that there is much point. At some point, I may convince Kate, the clever webdesign side of our company (I do ideas, graphics, KM consultancy and hardware, plus VB and databases, she does the PHP coding and Javascripting, accounting, tax returns, HTML crafting, website design, and dealing with the public.) to give my site the polish it needs to become wonderful, rather than a collection of randomised documents. The name RubberTreePlant came from the song "High Hopes", sung by Frank Sinatra. Writers: Cahn/Van Heusen Next time you're found, with your chin on the ground It really does sum up science, for me. Science, design and invention are all forms of problem solving. It isn't the refined problem solving seen in Mensa puzzles and maths classes, but it is the application of brain power just the same. In some ways, just the action of deciding whether to fix something with a nail or glue is far in excess of the decision process to solve a riddle. In real life, if you fail to solve the riddle, you aren't going to miss out on a grand prize or lose your first-born son. However, using a cyanoacrylate glue on a polymer based surface could result in a dangerously weak bond, meaning your shelf falls down. Deciding not to put your first-born son's crib under that shelf is probably the best solution! What is a Rubber Tree? From Michigan State University's database.
